Update on my regimen
I’ve taken a more simpler approach when maintaining my hair. Although I still pamper and give it LOTS of TLC, I’m come to realize that my regiment doesn’t have to be a long suffering, tedious process. I do want to enjoy my life outside of my hair. So, some changes have been made and they are working just fine.
Pre-Poo – before every wash day, using coconut oil or EVOO
Wash & Condition – once a week, usually on Saturday or Sunday
Co-Wash – as needed – when I notice product build up before wash day – but I don’t have to do this often
Clarifying Wash – once a month
Deep Condition – once a week on wash day
Protein Treatment – 1-2 times a month, as needed
Hot Oil Treatment – at least twice a month, every other week, but sometimes more
Rinses – Oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, Honey, Green Tea done as needed
– I’ve started to apply conditioner to my hair every time I shower. I let is marinate there until I finish my shower and then I rinse and seal.
– I’ve also started to do an oil rinse to prevent excessive dryness. Done after washing, but before conditioning.

Styling Products – Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, Flaxseed Gel (homemade) as needed, Olive Oil EcoStyler, ORS Edge Control, Elasta QP Olive Oil & Mango Butter Curl Defining Pudding
Other Stuff – coconut milk, raw honey, green tea, apple cider vinegar, banana, avocado, yogurt, eggs, aloe vera juice, aloe vera gel
Supplements – One a Day Women’s Formula Vitamins, Fish Oil, Biotin
I make sure I drink plenty of water and eat as healthy as possible each day.

I think I’ve finally gotten far enough along in my hair journey to have a solid regimen going. It is as follows:
Co-Wash – 2-3 days a week using Pantene truly Natural Co-Wash Conditioner
Wash & Condition – Once a week on Sunday, using Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo & Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner with apple cider vinegar and cold water rinse
Clarifying Wash – Once a month, on the 1st of each month (that helps me keep track of when I do it), using Pantene truly Natural Clarifying Shampoo
Hot oil treatment – Once a week, on Sunday
Deep Condition – Once a week on Sunday, with a protein deep condition every two weeks (using coconut milk)
Leave Ins – *Cantu Shea Moisture Repair Cream, Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut Conditioner, V05 Moisture Milk Conditioners, Herbal Essence Honey I’m Strong Strengthening Conditioner, *Quidad Climate Control Defrizzing Conditioner, Whipped Shea Butter (homemade mixture), Aloe Vera Gel
